• Career

  Dr. Barbara Engels studied biochemistry in Tübingen and Munich, earned her PhD at the Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry in Munich, and then worked on a research project at the National Botanical Institute in Cape Town, South Africa. After working for several years in pre-clinical research for the pharmaceutical company Byk Gulden (now Altana), she trained to become a patent attorney. Dr. Engels has been licensed as a German Patent Attorney since 2001 and as a European Patent Attorney since 2002.
