Beate Priewisch studied chemistry at the Technical University of Berlin, specialising in biochemistry and organic chemistry. As part of her studies, she spent a semester at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Beate Priewisch received her doctorate in the field of photoswitchable cyclic peptides.

She qualified as a German Patent Attorney and as a European Patent Attorney in 2011.
