Sebastian Heiroth studied chemistry at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, specializing in the fields of physical and inorganic chemistry. He obtained his PhD from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich with a thesis on laser-based deposition of electroceramic functional layers for applications in miniaturized solid-state fuel cells, conducted at the Paul Scherrer Institute.

Mr. Heiroth qualified as a German patent attorney in 2013. Since 2014 he is also admitted to practice before the European Patent Office.
